Decorate a cake with us

We love making beautiful, delicious desserts, and we also love sharing our passion with others. We’ve designed classes that teach the technical side of cake decoration and workshops that allow kids, adults, newbies, and even experienced bakers a forum to have a great time while learning something new… and often taking home a delicious creation that they helped create! We also focus on sharing our experience — what works best for us, what tools we can’t live without, and what tools we’ve wasted money on (so you won’t have to!).

Our Workshops

We like to highlight the differences between Sugarfuse! and our competition, and our classes are no different. Other classes are often commercials to get you to buy specific brands of tools and ingredients that are often overpriced. We’ll gladly share our cake decorating experience with you, and that includes money-saving tips as well!

Epic Ho-Ho Cake

$45 | Beginner to Hobbyist
No experience or supplies required.
This is a one-night class where we’ll have fun making an 8″ Sugarfuse! Signature Ho-Ho Cake for you to take home and enjoy.  It’s a perfect starting point for someone who enjoys baking, decorating, or just eating award-winning chocolate cake!

Kids Cupcake

$20 | Skill Level – Any
No experience or supplies required.
This class is perfect for children of all ages! Kids will decorate and take home four Sugarfuse! cupcakes with our signature made-from-scratch buttercream. We’ll help the smaller kids handle the piping bags, and we encourage parents to stay to join in on the fun or take pictures.

Private Classes

Prices start at $50 for 2 hrs.
No experience or supplies required.

Don’t see a class that works for you? Perhaps our workshops don’t line up with your schedule, or you’re wanting to learn some specific and/or advanced techniques. We can schedule a private session, or numerous sessions, where we bring you into our cake studio and go through exactly what you want to learn.


Need to know information about our workshops.

Safety Update: Due to Covid 19, we’re asking that all participants wear a mask if they can safely do so. We’re limiting class size to 8 people and keeping tables 6’ apart. If you’re attending with a friend or loved one, we’re happy to have you sit together if you’re all comfortable doing so.

Your spot is reserved when payment is received. We’re happy to hold a spot for up to 24 hours, but to limit no-shows, registration is not complete until payment is received. Our classes and workshops usually sell-out and we want to make sure that everyone gets an opportunity to participate! If it’s after hours and you’d like us to hold a spot, feel free to send us an e-mail or a message on our Facebook page!

Payments can be made at our physical location (113 W. 3rd St, Dover OH) in person, over the phone, or we’re happy to email you an invoice that can be paid online.

This will be outlined in the specific class/workshop description. A feature of many of our classes is that you’re required to bring nothing but your awesome self!

We’re currently exploring offering classes at new locations and businesses. If you have an idea for a Sugarfuse! event please let us know!

Just like a concert or sports event, class registrations are nonrefundable and may not be applied toward other classes or events.  If you’re unable to attend a class you’ve registered for, you’re welcome to send someone in your place. If we cancel a class, you’ll receive a full refund of your fee.

Meet Scott

Our classes and workshops are taught by Sugarfuse! Co-owner, Scott Florence.

“Years ago I taught myself how to play guitar. I was always proud of being self-taught, but I eventually took lessons from a great teacher. That opened my eyes up to how much more I had to learn and that you really can’t know everything about any subject.

When I started cake and cupcake decorating I again taught myself but realized the importance of continuing education. I’ve sought out the best teachers to help me develop my skill set & individual style. From classes in Chicago with Food Network personalities, to classes at Mother Of Cakes – Sugar & Cake Academy in PA, to training with one of my favorite people on earth: David MacCarfrae, owner of David Cakes in Liverpool England, I’ve grown not only as a decorator, but I’ve learned skills that have honed my abilities as an instructor as well.

I eventually started giving guitar lessons and always enjoyed teaching. We all have certain skills in life and I’m really drawn to creative instruction and making it as fun as possible.
