Gingerbread House Workshop

Join us as we make some super fun Gingerbread houses! We supply everything from the gingerbread house, royal icing, candy, and even a cake board to build it on. We’ll decorate the boards with Christmas trees and even a snowman! We offer as much (or as little) help as needed and we box them up for you at the end of the night. Tickets are $35.

Kids Cupcake Decorating Workshop

Join us for our Kids Cupcake Decorating Workshop. Your child will take home 4 beautiful cupcakes no matter how old they are! Everyone will have a great time with the Sugarfuse! team helping as much (or as little) as needed, and everyone learns a few tips along the way. All supplies included, just bring yourself! This workshop is about 1-1.5 hours long. Tickets are $27.50.

Monster Cake Workshop

Make a Monster…..Cake! We’ll walk you through every step and you’ll take home an amazing (and delicious) work of art! The workshop is 1.5 hours long. Tickets are $50.

Space Rental Details

Package Information

The rental price includes free air pots of coffee, 1 hr setup, 1 hr tear down, chairs, tables, and rental space. Book your cake through us for a 10% discount on the space!

2 hour minimum – $150
Each additional hour – $75/hr

Available Hours

Tuesday-Friday: 6pm-8pm
Saturday: 5pm-8pm
Sunday-Monday: 9am-9pm

Add Ons

Barista – $20/hr
Add on a barista to make specialty drinks such as lattes, cappuccinos, macchiatos, and more! Start a tab or pay as you go.

Backdrop rental – $20 flat rate
Add on a plain white backdrop that you can decorate to your liking! Can fit 4 people across.

Decorate a cupcake! – $2 a cupcake
Want to add some fun to the party? Decorate your own cupcakes! Cupcake, icing, and sprinkles included. Icing color is customizable.

Decorate a cake with us

We love making beautiful, delicious desserts, and we also love sharing our passion with others. We’ve designed classes that teach the technical side of cake decoration and workshops that allow kids, adults, newbies, and even experienced bakers a forum to have a great time while learning something new… and often taking home a delicious creation that they helped create! We also focus on sharing our experience — what works best for us, what tools we can’t live without, and what tools we’ve wasted money on (so you won’t have to!).

Our Workshops

We like to highlight the differences between Sugarfuse! and our competition, and our classes are no different. Other classes are often commercials to get you to buy specific brands of tools and ingredients that are often overpriced. We’ll gladly share our cake decorating experience with you, and that includes money-saving tips as well!

Chocolate Covered Strawberry Ganache Cake

No experience or supplies required.

This dessert is breathtaking, and we walk you through every step. We supply already baked cakes and we teach you how to stack & fill them, pour decadent chocolate ganache, and how to dip berries that look beautiful. You walk out with a work of art to share!

Kids Cupcake

$27 | Skill Level – Any
No experience or supplies required.

This class is perfect for children of all ages! Kids will decorate and take home four Sugarfuse! cupcakes with our signature made-from-scratch buttercream. We’ll help the smaller kids handle the piping bags, and we encourage parents to stay to join in on the fun or take pictures.

Epic Ho-Ho Cake

$38 | Beginner to Hobbyist
No experience or supplies required.

This is a one-night class where we’ll have fun making an 8″ Sugarfuse! Signature Ho-Ho Cake for you to take home and enjoy.  It’s a perfect starting point for someone who enjoys baking, decorating, or just eating award-winning chocolate cake!

Private Classes

Prices start at $150 for 2 hrs.
No experience or supplies required.

Don’t see a class that works for you? Perhaps our workshops don’t line up with your schedule, or you’re wanting to learn some specific and/or advanced techniques. We can schedule a private session, or numerous sessions, where we bring you into our cake studio and go through exactly what you want to learn.

Your spot is reserved when payment is received. We’re happy to hold a spot for up to 24 hours, but to limit no-shows, registration is not complete until payment is received. Our classes and workshops usually sell-out and we want to make sure that everyone gets an opportunity to participate! If it’s after hours and you’d like us to hold a spot, feel free to send us an e-mail or a message on our Facebook page!

Payments can be made at our physical location (113 W. 3rd St, Dover OH) in person, over the phone, or we’re happy to email you an invoice that can be paid online.

This will be outlined in the specific class/workshop description. A feature of many of our classes is that you’re required to bring nothing but your awesome self!

We’re currently exploring offering classes at new locations and businesses. If you have an idea for a Sugarfuse! event please let us know!

Just like a concert or sports event, class registrations are nonrefundable and may not be applied toward other classes or events.  If you’re unable to attend a class you’ve registered for, you’re welcome to send someone in your place. If we cancel a class, you’ll receive a full refund of your fee.

Meet Scott

Our classes and workshops are taught by Sugarfuse! Co-owner, Scott Florence.

“Years ago I taught myself how to play guitar. I was always proud of being self-taught, but I eventually took lessons from a great teacher. That opened my eyes up to how much more I had to learn and that you really can’t know everything about any subject.

When I started cake and cupcake decorating I again taught myself but realized the importance of continuing education. I’ve sought out the best teachers to help me develop my skill set & individual style. From classes in Chicago with Food Network personalities, to classes at Mother Of Cakes – Sugar & Cake Academy in PA, to training with one of my favorite people on earth: David MacCarfrae, owner of David Cakes in Liverpool England, I’ve grown not only as a decorator, but I’ve learned skills that have honed my abilities as an instructor as well.

I eventually started giving guitar lessons and always enjoyed teaching. We all have certain skills in life and I’m really drawn to creative instruction and making it as fun as possible. Big News!

I’m excited to announce that I’ve accepted a role on the Park Street team as a pastry chef and prep team member at their Sugarcreek kitchen. Yes, this means that we’ll be closing our Dover cafe, but not until the end of April. Plenty of time for us to see your beautiful smiles!

GIFT CARDS: Can be redeemed like normal through April. After April, see the “Signature Cakes” section below.

EXISTING ORDERS: Nothing changes. We’re looking forward to creating all that we’ve committed to. We’re reaching out to every customer to explain details and answer any questions.

WEDDINGS: Nothing changes for our amazing couples. We’ll continue making gorgeous wedding cakes in the beautiful Park Street kitchen. We’re reaching out to every couple to explain details and answer any questions.

SIGNATURE CAKES: We’re working on an online ordering system where our Signature Cakes can be ordered and picked up in Sugarcreek. This is a work in progress with no concrete timeline.

OUR AMAZING STAFF: We have such a great team and I’m endlessly thankful for their energy, creativity and personalities. Thankfully, they’ll all be offered opportunities to join the Park Street team. One thing I’ve learned through our Sugarfuse! journey is this: You can’t buy culture. The culture of a business is cultivated by the ownership and filters down through the team. I can’t think of a better landing spot for our staff and I’m so thankful they have this opportunity.

STORIA COFFEE ROASTERS: We’ll continue Storia! It’s exciting how this brand has developed and taken off. We will be taking a break after April as we navigate our new roasting space. There’s currently no firm timeline for the reboot, but this is a project with immense passion behind it and we’re excited to get our coffee to you!
